Kelly wed talent manager and Reba McEntire's stepson, Brandon Blackstock, in Tennessee. We're kind of obsessed with her dress y'all... And the fact that she added Bluebonnets (the state flower of her native Texas) to her bouquet.

Doesn't she look GORGEOUS?! We're obsessed with the heirloom quality of this dress.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Blackstock!

Also- how adorable are these pictures from her bachelorette party?? I love love love the idea of an adult tea party. Maybe it's time for a trip to Austin to visit the Marvelous Vintage Tea Party Co.

#SaturdaysDownSouth: Austin City Limits edition

via www.craveonline.com
It’s a new week, and as I sat at my internship earlier today, all I was doing was dreaming of my ACL experience. This past two weekends, I was lucky enough to experience the Austin City Limits Music Festival, held at the gorgeous Zilker Park in Austin, Texas.

Since it’s beginning in 2002, ACL has become famous for hosting over 150 different acts, with a wide variety of genres represented (meaning there’s something for everyone). Like Coachella but with a Southern twist, the festival has grown to be so large that a second weekend was necessary!

I attended the first of the two weekends, and I can honestly say that I am so glad I did (and not just because Weekend Two happens to be during the TX/OU game AND my friend’s wedding…). I feel as though Weekend One-ers get to see the acts flaws and all, which only betters the experience.

The first act I saw? Vampire Weekend. Anyone who knows me knows I was #DYING over the fact that I was finally able to see my favorite band play live, and there was no disappointment in their set. I headed over to Kaskade next, and was able to squeeze to the front and dance my heart out. My group then headed to see Muse, a band which put on a great performance. We left ACL that first night exhausted, but ready for what the next day had to offer.

That next day, our group split up and I went down early with a friend to catch Portugal. The Man. Instead of sitting through the show, we waited in the super long line for the ACL Fest frame picture (totally worth it) while waiting to meet up with everyone else.

We had an hour in between Portugal and Passion Pit, so we explored the food truck tents. Passion Pit, famous for songs like Sleepyhead and Little Secrets, had the crowd going with a more chill vibe, which was perfect seeing as Kendrick Lamar was performing right after! Kendrick killed his set; I wasn't a huge fan before, but after seeing him live, I’m a changed #MM! We ended the night at Kings of Leon, who teased the crowd by taking exceptionally long break before their encore performance, which ended with Sex on Fire.

The final day of ACL consisted of starting off at Paper Diamond (who’s going to be HUGE y’all, I can feel it), catching the first thirty minutes of Grouplove’s set, then running over to Franz Ferdinand, heading back to Toro Y Moi, seeing Eric Church (an odd choice for ACL, but great nonetheless), running to Phoenix, and ending the night at Atoms for Peace. It was exhausting, but definitely worth it to try and get our last fill (for those of us not coming back for Weekend Two) of all that is ACL.

Will I be back? You better believe it. I highly advise that if you live in Austin (or will be visiting), you make sure to check this off your list. You definitely won’t regret it!

(ACL 2014 is definitely on my bucket list y'all!! Amelia has me dying to go. -C. xx.)

Did you go to ACL?? What was your favorite act? Let me know!!

15 Reasons Mindy Lahiri is Your Spirit Animal

Mindy Kaling is one of the funniest women in comedy right now. She may not be from the South but she is sassy enough to qualify as a Magnolia. We are obsessed with her. She's hilarious on Twitter (she appreciates pop culture just as much as we do) and fabulous on Instagram (girl is all about her fashion).

After playing Kelly Kapoor on the Office, Mindy has moved to her own show, The Mindy Project, where she plays a hot doctor just trying to figure out her life. If you're not aspiring to be Mindy Lahiri, you're doing it wrong.

1. She's patriotic
2. She has great taste in television

3. She truly knows what will make any situation better

4. She's great with animals

5. She has amazing life goal

6. She's basically a modern day philospher
7. She knows the power of social media

8. She's great at dealing with other people's feelings
9. She knows how to find the right guy

10. She always looks great
11. She knows how to have a good time
12. She knows when to be serious
13. She speaks her mind
14. She knows the importance of a great alter-ego

15. She's confident
Be sure to watch The Mindy Project Tuesdays on FOX 9:30/8:30c to see our (not so) Southern soul sister!!

Just Say NOveralls.

via www.funnymemes.com
Back in May when I wrote our very first post, I said, "For the most part, trends have come and gone before anyone in the South has even bothered to notice and we like it that way." Recently, I've taken notice of a handful of trends that I have found... perplexing, to say the least- Birkenstocks, pajamas on the street, and, perhaps most troubling, overalls. (Even Leandra Medine, better known as Man Repeller, named her first book "Seeking Love, Finding Overalls" ...like, really?! Ugh.)

But anyway, back to my girl Danielle...
Danielle of weworewhat.com
I'm not sure if it was leaving Lilly Land (a.k.a. my college campus), working at a PR firm or transitioning into my "angsty early twenties" but over the past year, I have been reading more and more fashion blogs based out of NYC. One of my absolute favorites is WeWoreWhat by Danielle. She has an effortlessly cool, "rocker chic" style that is heavily infused with trends from the 90s.

While I adore most of her looks (though I could never pull them off), her love of overalls has gotten to be too much. I understand that they are her "signature" look but I just can't...

I am all for embracing trends but explain to me why my grandfather's go-to work outfit, on his farm, is now popular with bloggers and celebrities. These looks could never work in the South because people actually wear overalls for their intended purpose. Ugh.

I guess looking like you're about to work on a carburetor is cool now? Well... cool again. How many of y'all had your mother dress you up like this back in the 90s? I know I sure did. At least I was totally on trend.

Danielle, I still love you and your blog but this trend is just not something I will ever, E V E R be on board with.

How do you feel about overalls? Just say no or go for it? Tweet me and let me know :)

Stay Southern y'all!
