9 Sassy, Southern Mamas We Love

One thing the world needs more of is sassy, Southern mamas. We all know they are constant sources of wisdom, love and priceless one-liners. The world needs more of them and TV shows and movies SURELY need more of them...

But the ones we do have to choose from are pretty great. Check 'em out.

1. Blanche Devereaux, Golden Girls

If you don't love the Golden Girls, I have no time for you... They are all pretty darn fabulous but Blanche, the resident Southern belle, absolutely takes the cake. She's literally the best.

2. Rayna Jaymes, Nashville

Not only is Rayna a "singer," but she has amazing hair and can rock a black nail polish like no one else. She has two of the cutest, most talented daughters on television and that makes us like her even more. And she consistently puts Juliette's crazy butt in her place, thank God.

3. Truvy Jones, Steel Magnolias

If you couldn't tell by the name of this site, we absolutely adore Steel Magnolias. This movie makes us laugh, cry, get angry and everything in between. As much as we love Ouisser, Clairee and M'Lynn, Truvy is, hands down, our favorite. She has some of the best lines of the movie (including the one above). Anytime we need a pick me up, Truvy can do it.

Agreed Truvy, agreed.

4. Pam Swynford De Beaufort, True Blood
http://www.tumblr.com/search/pam+true+blood
Okay, so technically calling her a "Mama" is a bit of a stretch but she's a Maker so... it counts. While she doesn't necessarily qualify as loving, she makes up for it in the sass department. And she is lucky enough to have a super hot Maker, Viking Eric.

5. Kim Zolciak Biermann, Realhousewives of Atlanta
http://www.tumblr.com/search/kim+zolciak+gif
The only non-fictional character on the list, Kim is like a walking GIF. While some of her choices are questionable, at best, she seems to really love her family and that makes us like her. And we agree when it comes to food. and wine.

6. Vivianne Abbott Walker, Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood
http://www.tumblr.com/search/divine+secrets+of+the+ya-ya+sisterhood
Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood is my absolute favorite movie- mostly because of Vivi Darlin. She is feisty and fabulous. She's also a complete screw up but at least she's working on it, right?

7. Fionna Goode, American Horror Story: Coven
http://www.tumblr.com/search/fiona+goode
So, I don't do scary... at all. But Fiona, the coven's Supreme, is too fabulous to avoid. She's crazy but fabulous. And she looks awesome in black.

I like her, and this GIF, so much that I think she deserves an extra GIF :)

8. Tami Taylor, Friday Night Lights
http://www.tumblr.com/search/tami+taylor
Tami Taylor is one of the most realistic and fabulous mothers ever portrayed on television. She was real and she was the coach's wife we always dreamed of being... except she also had to be a guidance counselor and we weren't about that life. Clear eyes. Full hearts. Perfect hair.

And finally....

9. Scarlett O'Hara, Gone With The Wind
http://www.tumblr.com/search/scarlett+o'hara
Obviously, the Queen Bee, Katie Scarlett O'Hara Hamilton Kennedy Butler was making this list. Now, she was not the most motherly but she was the most fabulous. I mean, I don't think I need to elaborate on this one y'all...  she's flawless.
