#ValentinesDay playlist: Karaoke Night

My undying love for karaoke started with one of those 90's karaoke machines in my living room, performing Stevie Wonder songs for anyone willing to watch. Although it is, sadly, no longer 1997 (those were the daysss), my love for karaoke night with the girls has never faltered. Most of my experience has been at the Troubadour, in downtown Nashville (which is probably one of my favorite places on earth), so I've performed an awful lot of Waylon Jennings... Which brings me to a little karaoke tip-- realize where you are in the world. Case in point, don't request a Kendrick Lamar song in Nashville (take it from me, they don't have it).

The whole point of karaoke is to have fun and get the other bar-goers singing with you-- unless you are Mariah Carey, in which case, do your thang.

Here are a few of my favorite karaoke songs that are always a crowd pleaser:

  1. Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams
  2. All For You by Sister Hazel
  3. Wannabe by Spice Girls
  4. Beast of Burden by The Rolling Stones
  5. No Rain by Blind Melon
  6. Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond
  7. Black Velvet by Alannah Myles
  8. Dixieland Delight by Alabama
  9. PYT by Michael Jackson
  10. Say My Name by Destiny's Child
  11. I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick
  12. Wings by Little Mix
  13. Closing Time by Semisonic
  14. Kiss You by One Direction
  15. Fancy by Reba McEntire
  16. It's Still Rock and Roll to Me by Billy Joel
  17. Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
  18. Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show
  19. Torn by Natalie Imburglia
  20. Santeria by Sublime
  21. Callin' Baton Rouge by Garth Brooks
While I fully recommend spending Valentine's Day at a karaoke bar with your besties, there is always car-aoke en route to dinner with your significant other. It can be almost as fun.
