If #TheWalkingDead Happens: My Zombie Apocalypse Plan of Action

http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/the-walking-dead/images/24286816/title/twd-fanart
So if you don't watch The Walking Dead (eh hem, Caroline), I'm not entirely sure what you're watching on Sunday nights (I mean it's set in Georgia, so it's Southern). Being that the season 4 finale was last night, obvi I was ranting to C all weekend about my excitement/anxiety regarding the end of the season. This quickly moved into me going into great detail about my plan of action if The Walking Dead happens in real life. I originally wrote this for my personal blog (sealedwithsass.wordpress.com) after the mid-season finale, and while most of my plans are the same, I'm throwing in some new ideas.

http://www.uproxx.com/tv/2012/12/10-things-we-learned-from-last-nights-eye-gouging-the-walking-dead/4/

You might read this and think "Wow, this girl is super weird and crazy," but after watching The Walking Dead I literally know exactly what and what not to do. Most of the people on the show do the most ridiculous things and it's like no wonder you just got bit, I don't feel bad for you because you're being stupid. I am literally afraid of everything, and TWD has caused me to have a very real fear of walkers (aka da zombies), so like better safe than sorry, ya know?

With all that being said, here is my plan of action. Take notes.

1. Stock up on food and water.
http://mashable.com/2013/09/14/hunger-gifs/
Sure, some people would go for the weapons first, but I am loading up on canned goods and bottles of water. I understand that weapons are important and you can kill all the walkers you want, but if you starve to death or get dehydrated the weapons have done you absolutely no good.

2. Assuming I am still at my house gathering supplies, I am going to grab a backpack and start packing clothes.
http://jestcomedy.tumblr.com/post/28996932683/click-for-the-full-video-proving-that-lauren
This is the one thing that sort of drives me nuts about The Walking Dead: Like, WHY are they all in clothes that are not really practical for fighting zombies (in my mind at least)? I mean I guess I get that you are working with what you have, but still, if death via walker is literally around every corner I’m going for comfort y’all. Maybe this is the sorority girl coming out in me, but I am actually only wearing leggings or running shorts with a t-shirt and tennis shoes. On the show people seriously cannot get away from the walkers who are moving at a literal glacial place. Maybe if you had some running shoes you get away from them dumbies. Pretty sure I could turn into Usain Bolt in .5 seconds if zombies were after me. Really though, the first place I am trying to raid is a Dick’s Sporting Goods. Plenty of sporty clothes that enable you to move while taking out walkers, and like loads of survival stuff too.

3. NOW WE GET TO THE WEAPONS
http://giphy.com/search/eric-foreman
Because I’m not the best shot with a gun, I am going to go the Michonne route: KATANA ALL DAY Y’ALL. Yeah, you’d have to wait until the zombies got really close to kill them, BUT you’re able to stay a lot more quiet as not to attract more of them. Not exactly sure where I would go about getting a katana (FYI it's like a samurai sword), but it’s obvi my ideal weapon. Until I could locate one, I would literally take every giant knife from my kitchen. I would like to have a pistol on me as a last resort, but I’d also be on the hunt for some automatic firearm and plenty of ammunition. The Daryl Dixon fangirl in me wants to say I would go for a crossbow, but let’s be honest, there’s no way I could work one of those.

4. Once I have all that loaded up in my car, I am stopping by to get a full tank of gas before everything gets too cray.
I’m also going to take as many containers as I can find to fill up with gas so I don’t have to worry about finding any more for a while. While I’m out, I’m also going to hit up the pharmacy and scavenge whatever heavy meds I can get my hands on. Not trying to have an outbreak like in the prison. Like, if I am going to die, it’s going to be via zombie, not a bad cold. And your life would be super stressful, so a Xanax every now and then could for real come in handy.
http://bricesander.tumblr.com/post/75662449315

5. From there I am going to find somewhere to wait this thing out.
http://piece4life.tumblr.com/post/55765714359/every-summer
I like the idea of the apartment building like that family the Governor ran up on. They literally didn’t even have to deal with the outside world or walkers, which was ideal. Those idiots left and LOOK WHAT HAPPENED. That’s what you get for listening to the Governor. Other than some sort of building to be held up in, I like the idea that walkers have a hard time dealing with a body of water. Maybe I’d head towards the lake or beach. As always, the prison is a great idea. Just make sure you reinforce those fences y’all. I have recently come up with the idea of digging a huge pit/moat or something and lighting the thing on fire because walkers are attracted to light and it would legit kill so many of them.

Things I would like to have but wouldn’t be concerned about immediately (because I actually wouldn’t know where to get some of them):
  • An army tank like that crazy man on TWD because DUH
  • Flame thrower: because zombie ashes can’t bite you
  • http://satireknight.wikispaces.com/gifs
    • One of the hammocks that you can tie up in a tree: never know when you’re going to get separated from your group/supplies and zombies can’t climb
    • Grenades: a blown up zombie is my favorite kind of zombie
    • A boat: get me to an island STAT
    http://victorsvillage.com/2011/06/27/im-on-a-frosting-sailboat/
Soooo, you're welcome for the survival tips. I highly recommend that all of you immediately get on your Netflix account and get to watching The Walking Dead, because you need to get caught up by the season 5 premiere (I think it's in October). You might think this type of show is not for you, but I promise it's phenomenal. And if you won't listen to me, maybe this picture of TWD's ultimate redneck, hardcore, crossbow totin' hottie that you definitely want to be stuck with in the event of a zombie apocalypse will do the trick:

    Spring transition- All pastel everything

    http://rebloggy.com/post/gif-fashion-nyc-new-york-burberry-live-music-vice-noisey-peaceforeverever-burber/65047066154
Fashion is all about taking existing ideas and re-imagining them in a fresh way. Spring and pastels seem to always go hand in hand and can remind me of my childhood Easter dresses. But by wearing them together in a monochromatic ensemble, rather than as separates, they seem totally chic and cutting edge. This trend has been all over the runways this spring and works so well with any and all pastel shades! Take a look at how some fabulous ladies have styled this fun look-

(And yes, we ARE obsessed with the Burberry English Rose collection. Obviii.) While it may seem a bit high-fashion and unaccessible, monochrome pastels can work for the every-day gal as well! The trend is bold on its own and doesn't need over-the-top clothing to make a big impact. By layering your favorite solid, structured pastel pieces you'll accomplish the same vibe without the high-fashion craziness. Simply wear a pair of colored skinnies with a top in a similar hue, add a ballet flat, and voila- You'll look like you just stepped off the Burberry runway! Here's how I would style the monochromatic look-

    Monochromatic Pastels

Will you try out this fun trend? How would you style it? Let us know!

Carolina Cup- It's a marathon, not a sprint.

    http://carolina-cup.org/
It's that time of year ladies. Time to break out your sunhats and sundresses. Carolina Cup is upon us. Since all you Modern Magnolias probably have dresses on dresses on dresses that are beyond perfect for this occasion, we won't even get into all that. We just want to give a little pre-Carolina Cup pep talk for y'all belles heading to Camden on Saturday .

So here it is, short and sweet- Don't be THAT girl.
    http://universityprimetime.com/school/ttu/article/38-reasons-every-guy-should-date-a-sorority-girl
You know her. She's the one who starts drinking and loses her phone, shoes, purse and dignity within ten minutes of getting to College Park. She's not just a little drunk, she's a mess. We want y'all to have as much fun as possible, but Modern Magnolias know how to do just that without making a fool of themselves.

Because a lot of you are probably getting to Cup by way of fraternity bros, you're going to be in party mode as soon as you get to the bus.
    http://realitytvgifs.tumblr.com/post/77384504162/me-after-this-week#notes
But y'all, it'll be like 6:00 am. PACE YOURSELF. SERIOUSLY. Don't get on the bus and take 13 shots before you leave the parking lot. Chances are you've got to ride at least two hours (maybe more) to get to Camden. Ever sat for two hours while drinking and then stood up? You don't want to be stumbling off of the bus.

    http://realitytvgifs.tumblr.com/post/52071396948/monday#notes
Suggestion: Eat breakfast and Bring some snacks. You're going to be day drinking right through lunch time and that is no easy task on an empty stomach. Oh, and bring/drink tons of water. Really though, stay hydrated y'all. Believe it or not, you don't have to black out to have a good time.

Since a large majority of y'all are probably under the age of 21, here's a heads up: THERE WILL BE UNDERCOVER COPS AT CUP. Disclaimer: This is not me condoning underage drinking, nor is it me telling you not to drink. I'm assuming that most of you are in college, so you are fully capable of making your own, adult decisions. With that being said, BE SMART. If you are underage and choose to drink at Carolina Cup, I would suggest maybe not funneling a beer, while standing on the back of a tailgate so that everyone can see you, ya know? You're probably not going to want to draw attention to yourself in that way (really regardless of your age).

    http://storify.com/ShawnTeflon/carolina-cup
And if you DO get questioned by the police, I beg of you, don't run from them. True life: I have seen a guy get tackled by a cop at Cup. Please don't get tackled by a cop at Cup. They'll handcuff you and make you ride on the police golf cart and then take you away to I don't know where. NOT FUN.

With all of that being said, if you see one of your friends getting on the verge of being "that girl," hand her a bottle of water and some crackers and tell her to pump the brakes.
    http://realitytvgifs.tumblr.com/post/79163649132/1-day-until-rhony-season-6#notes
Friends don't let friends get trampled by horses at Cup. Use the buddy system to keep tabs on your besties so they don't get out of control.
    http://fuckyeahheavyweights.tumblr.com/post/59031400002
Not trying to be the Fun Police, we just want all of you to be safe and responsible, and HAVE FUN DUH!
    http://realitytvgifs.tumblr.com/post/77072424444/spankmehardbarry-when-u-finally-convince-ur#notes
It's a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourselves and be smart. And if you get really over whoever you're hanging out with...
    http://realitytvgifs.tumblr.com/post/78776251723#notes
..find Caroline and me!! We'll be there with bells on!

Happy Carolina Cup! Much love, y'all!

#CHSFW: Featured designer & Carolina girl- Hunter Bell

    http://fuckyeahfashiongifs.tumblr.com/post/78624093921
So I just got back from Charleston Fashion Week and I feel like a very, very tired uber fashionista (hence, the fierceee gif). But anywayz... y'all know that I love love  l o v e  combining a classic, timeless style with edgier pieces. So when I find a designer that encompasses both of these aspects and is a fellow South Carolina girl, I become somewhat obsessed. Enter- Hunter Bell.
    http://hunterbellnyc.com/pages/about-us
I was lucky enough to meet Hunter a few months ago and was completely blown away, not only by how fabulous and wearable her designs are, but by how perfectly sweet and charming she is in person. She carries herself with all the grace and poise one would expect from the daughter of a former Miss South Carolina and the strength and sophistication of a businesswoman who has been in New York City for years.

Hunter was Thursday night's Featured Designer at Charleston Fashion Week- check out the vid below to hear/see more about it.

I was probably more excited for this show than any of the others I would be seeing at #CHSFW and Hunter did NOT disappoint.
    http://omyheadmyheart.tumblr.com/post/80352740590
It's one thing to see the clothes in a store (every designer's dream) but it is such a different experience to see them move on a runway. And man do they look gooooood on a runway.

Seriously, I want every. single. piece.
The styling and accessories were perfection.
Absolutely in love with the shoes.
After talking to Hunter, she revealed that this was probably her favorite look she sent down the runway. It's absolutely fabulous!
I am dying to get my hands on this coat.

When I talked to Hunter the morning after the show, she told me this was also one of her favorite looks and I could not agree more!
For a girl who doesn't love patterns, I fell in love with this sweet, patterned dress.
    But actually...
    Obsessed with this jumpsuit. OBSESSED.
I would gladly wear this everyday.
    The show was SO good.

Rookie mistake- held the camera the wrong way... u g h.

Not only were the clothes fabulous, the music was on point. I don't know all the names of the songs but one of the last songs was "Fashion Killa" by A$AP ROCKY and the people next to me found it somewhat strange that I knew every word. #SorryImNotSorry
    http://only-exist-in-my-dreams.tumblr.com/post/73507342994
The final walk was to M83's "Midnight City" a.k.a the theme song for Made In Chelsea. Clearly, I was lovingggg life.

I had such a fabulous time seeing Hunter and her collection and I cannot wait to see what comes next- sure to be BIG things from this fabulous, Southern belle.

Dreams do come true- Boys in baseball pants. Cleaning.

The University of Tennessee baseball team has a kind of bizarre tradition. Whatevz. They're doing it in baseball pants so, clearly, we're on board.

Just felt the need to share...

Spring Break 2k14- The only playlist you need

    http://swimming-with-starfish.tumblr.com/post/79408682470/spring-break-has-begun
It’s that time of the year again.  It is getting warm again, the days are getting longer, and that much-needed break has finally arrived.  Even if you’re unfortunate enough to be out of college (seriously, post-college life is HARD), you’re probably still making plans for the spring break that you don’t technically get anymore (technicalities—that’s what sick days are for).  Whether you’re headed to the Gulf Coast along with every college kid in the southeast or someplace a bit further away, I’ve got a playlist of songs that are sure to put you in the spirit for some serious downtime/partying... whatevz.

    https://31.media.tumblr.com/e1ae8f20d55672ef03e93cab924fc99a/tumblr_mzixsutlBZ1rpqoi3o1_1280.gif
Like always, my taste in music is eclectic so looking for a common theme here would be nearly impossible.  All genres in music are accepted here.

    • #SELFIE- The Chainsmokers
    • Partition- Beyonce
    • Wildfire- John Mayer
    • If I Could Do It Again- Corey Smith
    • Lay Me Down- The Dirty Heads
    • Boys In The Wood- Black Lips
    • Almost Famous- G-Eazy
    • Into The Mystic- Van Morrison
    • Fancy- Iggy Azalea
    • Where The Boat Leaves From- Zac Brown Band
    • If I Could Change Your Mind- Haim
    • Doses & Mimosas- Cherub
    • Golden Touch- The Dance Party
    • Ants Marching- Dave Matthews Band
    • All of Me (Tiesto's Birthday Treatment)- John Legend

Wherever you go, have fun, be safe and stay classy!

    #MMLovesFashion: Front Row Charlotte

So if you follow me on Twitter or Pinterest, you are well aware that I like to think I'm supppppppper fashionable. (Lolz.) While I don't typically participate in the whimsical styling that is usually associated with runway shows, I  L O V E  to watch. Seriously, I think I'm an Olsen or something...

    http://love-olsen.tumblr.com/post/75053088065
But anyway, back to the show. Front Row Charlotte is very unique in that it highlights multiple local boutiques, gives back to an amazing charity AND (as the name implies) everyone gets to sit #FRow. Clearly, I was loving it.

The lovely hosts, Erika Hanks and Joey Hewell, kicked off the show looking fabulous- seriously, I may or may not have snagged a couple snaps of Erika's heels to keep in mind for later. (Sidenote- I 100% did. #NoShame)

Images via the amazing Justin Driscoll
The local boutiques that were featured were Coral, Poole Shop, Coplon's, Our Place and Social Dress Shop. Seriously y'all, these places are unbelievable. Take a day trip up to Charlotte and get ready to melt your credit card. I WANTED EVERYTHING. No joke.

Image via the amazing Justin Driscoll
Heads up y'all, crop tops ain't going anywhereeee. Embrace them. (Just keep it ladylike...)

Sketchy image via my camera phone...
Clearly, I fell in love with this jumpsuit. Not only is it my color scheme (#AllBlackEverything) but it's by super fabulous, Southern designer Hunter Bell (who I cannot wait to see at Charleston Fashion Week!!!). Check out the rest of my favorite looks below-

(Like, shout out to editors, bloggers, Erika, etc. who take awesome pictures from runway shows... it was really hard.)

So I gave up on pictures and went with videos... way easier. Also, you can't really tell in this tiny video (not sure why it's so little...??) but the jewelry was AMAZING. Do you ever see something and literally GASP or start doing a little dance (just me? whatevz.) because it is just T H A T major? That's how I felt about the S. Carter Designs jewelry.

Sooooo that'll be on the birthday wishlist I send to my Daddy.

Love love love a good final walk. Because duh.

But the most amazing part of the night was when Erika and Joey presented the ladies of Baby Bundles with a check for $10,000. It's always so much nicer to attend a really great event that has a greater purpose. It made my cold, black heart so, very happy!
Image via the amazing Justin Driscoll
Erika- I WANT THOSE PANTS. Also, shout out to #TwitterBesties. (I have attended #NYFW vicariously through her tweets/instas twice now.)
So basically, I had an AHHHHHMAZING time and cannot wait for the next Front Row Charlotte show. Thank you to Erika and everyone at Front Row Charlotte for having me and congratulations on such a successful event!!
